pedestal to mimic the living room columns. Grass-cloth-
covered walls, an exception to the white, add depth.
2
. PLUGGED-IN PENINSULA
With an outlet, a
kitchen cabinet is a charging (and landing) spot for
phones and gadgets that tend to clutter countertops.
Beside it, wine cubbies can flex into mail slots.
3
. HANDY PANTRY
A once-basic laundry closet
with bifold doors is now a walk-in kitchen utility room.
The couple simply replaced the side-by-side washer and
dryer with stacked machines, freeing up space for a
shelving unit— and a place for the microwave oven.
Handsome double doors hide it all away.
4
. CLEVER CLOSET
Cabinets recessed into the
master bedroom dormers are built out so they’re just
deep enough for clothes hangers. ®
